Gastronomy

The richness of the Bornense orchard means that the spoon dishes, ideal for autumn-winter, are of exceptional quality and very varied.
Autumn is hunting time and, thus, hares and very tasty and sought-after birds are also tasted.

Bornense cuisine is characterized by the use of high-quality products such as fish and shellfish from the Gulf of Cádiz and the Strait, oil from the Sierra de Cádiz, wine and vinegar from Jerez, Sanlucar or Chiclana, fresh vegetables from the orchards of Bornos or the retinta cattle meat.

Of great renown and antiquity is the production of sausages from Bornense made by hand.
It also has high-quality legumes planted in the municipality.

In snail season, Bornos has a great variety of recipes and most of them are exhibited at the “Snail Fair” that is held annually.
Of the desserts we must highlight the fruits of the earth (dates, figs, fruit trees in general). Of great fame are the pomegranates and apricots from Bornense.
