At present, there are four Penitential Brotherhoods in Bornos, which carry out their Penance Stations between Tuesday and Good Friday; although Bornos, faithful to his tradition, celebrates a Via Crucis, on Holy Monday, with the image of the Stmo. The Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno is the one that moves the greatest devotion, dyeing the early morning of Holy Thursday in its purple color, with its two titular images, Ntro. Father Jesus Nazareno and Our Lady of Sorrows. It leaves from the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán.
As a contrast to the penitential content of the Brotherhoods, Good Friday is lived in Bornos as a big holiday; the Holy Burial processions, with the mystery of the Descent, followed by the Sacred Urn with Jesus Christ dead inside and the image of Our Lady of Solitude closes the procession. It makes its exit from the Hermitage of Calvario.
